Frequently Asked Questions about Erickson Advantage

 

 

1. Who can join Erickson Advantage?

Erickson Advantage is only available to Erickson Retirement Community residents.  As with other Supplemental and Advantage Plans, you must be entitled to Part A and enrolled in Part B. You must continue to pay the Medicare Part B premium if not otherwise paid for under Medicaid or by another third party.

Enrolling with us does not affect your Medicaid eligibility. Persons with end-stage renal disease at the time of application are not eligible, except under certain circumstances.

2. If I chose not to join the health plan, can I still go to the community Medical Center?

Yes, all Erickson residents can utilize the services provided at the Medical Center.

3. Who provides care to Erickson Advantage members? 

Erickson Advantage has a network of physicians/providers in addition to the primary care physicians at Erickson medical centers . You may go to out of network physicians/providers but you will pay more. To receive preferred benefits, members must use our network of physicians/providers.

4. What if I want to withdraw from the plan?

You may disenroll from Erickson Advantage Signature, Signature RX and Champion plans during certain times of the year, or under certain circumstances. You may disenroll from the Erickson Advantage Guardian plan any time of the year. To disenroll, send a written request to us.  You may also call 1-800-MEDICARE. TTY/TDD users should call 711, 24 hours a day/7 days a week.  You'll even be guaranteed the chance to repurchase a Medigap policy. Outside of that time, limitations may apply. 5. Am I covered for emergency health services when I am traveling and away from the community?

Certainly!  In an emergency situation, you should immediately seek care. Emergency Health Services are those Covered Health Services necessary for the treatment of an Emergency, provided Worldwide.

6. Do I have to file claims with Erickson Advantage?

There is virtually no paperwork for covered services. You may have to file a claim if you are out of the area and receive care from a provider who will not directly bill Erickson Advantage.

7. How do I find out more about Erickson Advantage and see if it is right for me?

8. What is the Mail Service Pharmacy?

Convenient home delivery of your medications at no charge. Save money, save time with Prescription Solutions Mail Service Pharmacy. Click here to order and manage your prescription medications online.
           
Prescription Solutions Mail Service Pharmacy is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (excluding certain holidays). Feel free to contact them at 1-877-889-6358 TTY 711.
                           

      1. You are not required to use the plan's Preferred Mail Service Pharmacy to obtain a supply of your maintenance medications. You have the option of using the Preferred Mail Service Pharmacy, a retail extended day supply pharmacy or non-preferred mail service pharmacy in the network to obtain a supply of maintenance medications.
      2. If you choose a retail extended day supply pharmacy or non-preferred mail service pharmacy, you may see out-of-pocket payment differences when compared to using the Preferred Mail Service Pharmacy. You should experience no out-of-pocket payment differences if choosing between a retail extended day supply pharmacy and a non-preferred mail service pharmacy.
      3. Your prescriptions should arrive in about seven days from the date the completed order is received by Prescription Solutions. If Prescription Solutions needs to contact you or your prescribing physician to clarify information on your order or to request prescriptions from your physician, delivery may take longer. If you prefer rush delivery, medications can be shipped overnight for an additional charge. You should fill your prescriptions locally if you are out of your medications and cannot wait for your mail order prescriptions to arrive. Standard delivery is no charge to U.S. addresses, including U.S. territories.
      4. Prescription Solutions is an affiliate of United HealthCare Insurance Company and United HealthCare Insurance Company of New York.
